Enrolling in the Air Force ROTC program is as simple as registering for the introductory Air Force ROTC class (Aerospace Studies (AIR) 101) along with your other classes. The tuition and books for the 3 hours a week, 1-credit Air Force ROTC class are provided free of charge. AIR 101 will give you a chance to check out the Air Force opportunities without making any commitment to the Air Force. It's an excellent way to find out if becoming an Air Force officer is something that you may want to do after you graduate from college.

| Air Force ROTC Field Training
| Air Force ROTC Field Training (FT) is required for all cadets who seek membership in the Professional Officers Course (POC). FT is normally accomplished during the summer between the sophomore and junior years. Cadets who have completed all AS 100 and 200 courses attend a four-week FT encampment, while students applying for the two-year Air Force ROTC program attend a five-week camp. Five-week camps include the academic training normally taught in AS 100 and 200 courses, plus additional training in Air Force customs and courtesies.
All transportation expenses, uniforms, and a subsistence allowance are provided by Air Force ROTC. The FT encampments provide concentrated training in leadership, followership, drill and ceremonies, customs and courtesies, and officership. In addition, cadets may attend Jet Orientation training, small arms training, and survival training.
