Air Force ROTC Detachment 780 The Department of Aerospace Studies conducts the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (Air Force ROTC) program at SDSU. Air Force ROTC is designed to teach students about Air Force history, the mission, and careers while enhancing leadership skills. The learning experiences received will be of long range value in either a military or civilian career. Learning takes place with hands-on training, visits to Air Force bases, classroom lecture and many other formal and informal activities. Air Force ROTC creates professional and social atmospheres that lead to many friendships and a sense of belonging. Students then determine if they are interested in becoming a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after they graduate from college.
The Air Force ROTC courses (AIR 101, 102, 201, 202) are tuition-free, available to all SDSU and DSU students regardless of academic major, can be counted toward General Education Requirements for Social Sciences, and can be taken without any obligation. Air Force ROTC also offers scholarships and financial assistance worth up to $100,000 to high school and college students. So whether you are a high school junior or even a college senior, Air Force ROTC has a program designed specifically to meet your desires and goals.
To learn more, check out the links on the left of this page, enroll in AIR 101 in the fall or AIR 102 in the spring, contact us, or stop by to visit Air Force ROTC in the lower level of DePuy Military Hall on the SDSU campus. |
