Howard Woodard

Professor Woodard has a split-research and teaching appointment in crop nutrition and soil fertility. He conducts field-oriented research that investigates nutrient-use efficiency in soybean and wheat; soil-nutrient availability with tillage practices in corn, soybean, and wheat; protein and yield enhancement with post-emergence foliar nutrient applications in wheat; and nutrient recycling effects with tillage practices in multi-crop rotations. His teaching responsibilities include teaching a course in Soil Fertility and Fertilizers (PS-323) each spring semester and Soil N,P, and K (PS-744) for graduate students every other spring semester. He also assists in teaching the Geology Field Lab (PS-244) each fall semester. Dr. Woodard maintains the SDSU Virtual Geology Field TourClick to view SDSU's Hyperlink Policy. Dr. Woodard serves as Plant Science Department Graduate Coordinator and chairs the Graduate Application Screening Committee.
