Horticulture Forestry Landscape and Parks
Faculty in the College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences carry split appointments -- in various combinations -- in teaching, research, and Extension. They advise and mentor undergraduate students, both in the classroom and through clubs and other extracurricular activities, such as judging teams.
Faculty employ students to work in their labs and assist them with their research. Graduate faculty oversee Masters and Ph.D. students. Research faculty are competitive in the receipt of regional and national grants, through which several have earned national and/or international recognition. Extension educators in every county are faculty members who provide an open door to the university for all citizens of South Dakota.
