Associate Professor

Jason Zimmerman earned his bachelor's degree from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and his Ph.D. in Economics from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He joined the Economics Department at South Dakota State University in 1999. Professor Zimmerman's teaching specialties include Industrial Organization and microeconomic theory. He has written articles on such topics as the economic consequences of preemployment drug testing programs, the use of bureaucracy and formalization by organizations, and networking behavior by television executives. Dr. Zimmerman currently lives in Brookings, South Dakota with his wife, Kyrsten, and children, Aaron and Madeline.
