David E. Davis, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
David E. Davis joined the Economics Department of South Dakota State University in 2005. Prior to teaching at SDSU, Dr. Davis worked as an economist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, holding positions with a regulatory agency in Denver CO, and the Economic Research Service in Washington D.C. His current research interests include empirical investigations of the industrial organization of markets. Other research has examined the labor market implications of deregulation of the Class I railroad industry, the economic geography of food manufacturing, and the effect of food price policies meant to affect consumer eating decisions and health. His research has been published in the Journal of Regulatory Economics, the Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, the Southern Economic Journal, and the Forum for Health Economics & Policy.
