Dr. Schingoethe teaches a portion of Introduction to Dairy Science most semesters, and teaches Physiology of Lactation and Ruminology.

Dr. Schingoethe has been a member of the SDSU Dairy Science Department faculty since 1969 conducting research and teaching. Research includes primarily dairy cattle nutrition, especially nutrition of lactating dairy cows, but also includes nutrition of young calves and heifers. The utilization of various byproducts in cattle diets has been a component of much of the research. Current research includes protein and energy nutrition of dairy cows, and manipulation of the cow's diet to make milk more healthful and marketable for the consuming public.
