The SDSU Curriculum Handbook is available on InsideState . Curriculum processing at SDSU occurs as follows:
A. Minor Course Modifications, Course Deletion Requests, Experimental Course Notifications, Minor Program Modifications
- Curriculum Request forms are submitted (electronically with typed signatures) by college deans to Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger). Forms are available on the BOR site at http://www.sdbor.edu/administration/academics/aac/guidelines.htm
 .
- Review of forms by Academic Affairs Office personnel (Katy Heiberger) relative to use of appropriate forms, common course numbering, complete information, CIP Code, instructional method type, etc.
- Approved Minor Course Modifications/Deletions/Experimentals (approved locally by VP for Academic Affairs) are sent electronically from Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) to the Curriculum and Academic Records Regents Fellow (Dr. Ranny Jones) for input into the master course database.
- The Curriculum and Academic Records Regents Fellow (Dr. Ranny Jones) notifies Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) when data entry is complete.
- As soon as possible, Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) forwards the Curriculum and Academic Records Regents Fellows (Dr. Ranny Jones) message and electronic copies of requests to Registrar (Dr. Matt Aschenbrener), Records and Registration Secretary (Jessica Bingham), and Student Service Analyst (Tina Pruett).
- Approved Minor Program Modifications [no data entry required on the part of the Curriculum and Academic Records Regents Fellow (Dr. Ranny Jones)] are sent electronically by Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) to the Registrar (Dr. Matt Aschenbrener), Records and Registration Secretary (Jessica Bingham), Student Service Analyst (Tina Pruett), and the Degree Audit Coordinator (Janine Haaland) for use in degree audit, etc.
- Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) notifies Deans and Department Heads of approvals via email and electronic copies of the approved forms.
- Minor course and program changes are reported annually to the BOR (reporting forms available on BOR web site). This reporting is done by Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger).
B. New Course Requests, Revised Course Requests, New Degree Programs, New Site, Placement on Inactive Status/Termination, Substantive Program Modifications
- Curriculum Request forms are submitted (electronically with typed signatures) by college deans to Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger). Forms are available on the BOR site at http://www.sdbor.edu/administration/academics/aac/guidelines.htm

- Review of forms by Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) relative to use of appropriate forms, complete information, CIP Code, etc.
- Review and approval by Academic Affairs Committee, Academic Senate, Graduate Council as necessary, and the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
- Forms posted on Academic Affairs web site for system review. [Alert System Academic Affairs Council when new items are posted on Academic Affairs web site.]
- System Academic Affairs Council and BOR review/approve. The Board Office forwards the approved curriculum to the Curriculum and Academic Records Regents Fellow (Dr. Ranny Jones) for input into the system database.
- The Curriculum and Academic Records Regents Fellow (Dr. Ranny Jones) notifies Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) when input is complete.
- As soon as possible, Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) forwards the Curriculum and Academic Records Regents Fellows (Dr. Ranny Jones) message and electronic copies of requests to the Registrar (Dr. Matt Aschenbrener), Records and Registration Secretary (Jessica Bingham), and Student System Analyst (Tina Pruett).
- Academic Affairs (Katy Heiberger) notifies Deans and Department Heads of approvals via email and electronic copies of the approved forms.
