Advanced Placement
|
The Advanced Placement (AP) Examination is given at the high school level for college credits. Usually a student completes an AP course in high school then takes the AP test at the end of that course. High school courses for which students received college credit will not be accepted for transfer unless validated by an Advanced Placement or CLEP score that meets Board of Regents guidelines for acceptance of credit.
All state institutions are required to accept the same examinations and scores set by the South Dakota Board of Regents. Click on the "Advanced Placement Exams" link on the left to see a list of those examinations.
Score reports are sent to SDSU when students place SDSU's school code (6653) on their test registration application. Once a score report is received, an SDSU report is sent to the student to indicate allowable credit based on the AP test score.
To complete the process of placing credits on a transcript, the student must complete an Application for Placement Credit form in the Academic Evaluation and Assessment Office. There is no transcripting fee for this service. |
