Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs
Associate Vice President Helling received her B.S. (1978) and M.S. (1982) degrees in Family and Consumer Sciences with a specialization in Child Development and Family Studies from South Dakota State University. In 1992, she received her Ph.D. from Purdue University in Child Development and Family Relations. Dr. Helling first served as a faculty member in the Human Development, Consumer and Family Sciences Department. From 1992-2003, she served as Department Head of HDCFS. She assumed her duties as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs in August 2003.
The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs assists the Office of Academic Affairs and the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs on a wide variety of ongoing and special activities. Among her various duties, she also serves as Coordinator of Faculty Development, Articulation, and Director of Summer Term.
